Sec. Rex Gatchalian of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) preferred Bataan over other provinces to celebrate President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s 67th birthday last September 13th. It was also the birthday of late governor/congressman Enrique Tuazon Garcia, Jr.
In his brief message during the “Handog ng Pangulo Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat” program at the Bunker, Gatchalian said he’d always wanted to visit Bataan when there is an important occasion because he learns a lot of good things about good governance from Congressman Albert Garcia and Bataan Gov. Joet Garcia. “I learn a lot of new things from the Garcias,” he said.
The same event was held in 80 other provinces in the country to celebrate PBBM’s birthday. In Bataan, Gatchalian awarded certificates of agricultural machineries to local farmers, assistance to upland farmers cooperatives, led TUPAD payout, extended training assistance to student sector and scholarship grants.
